It is important to realise that there is not a standard approach to pain management. It may impact everyday life,and every area, work, relationships, sleep, mental and physical health,and general everyday activities. No two people will experience the same pain, as each persons perception will be different.
When considering a clients needs, I take a multidisciplinary whole body approach, whether it is an Acute pain (often caused by injury to soft tissue’s) or Chronic pain (a pain which persists beyond normal healing time for an injury). There may be underlying toxicities and endocrine problems, or adrenal dysfunctions. The list of symptoms caused by adrenal disfunction includes, fatigue, depression, GI issues, weakened ligaments, and susceptibility to joint injuries and pain. Stress may be a leading factor and creates unconscious tightening of the muscles, which leads to ischaemia, which leads to physical pain due to lack of localised blood and oxygen.
Dehydration is another factor to consider in pain management. Therapies such as Rebalancing the body offers fine adjustments which relieve tension and overall pain.
